Fun Fact: Animated Japanese films and television shows (Anime) account for 60% of the world’s animation-based entertainment. I volunteer as a Japanese translator at Anime conventions here in the USA for some amazing people in the industry.

I have been a travel agent for almost 22 years and have traveled to more than 40 countries on 5 continents.  I have worked with corporate, leisure, and group travelers of all types.  As a Japanese national, I work very closely with the local Japanese community as well as organizations that works with Japan, and travelers headed to Japan.  I love to travel myself, and I am experienced with various types of travels, from luxury to ultra-value travel, tours and cruises to adventurous trips without set itineraries.  Food and trains are my passion, and I try to include those elements everytime I travel so I am regularly adding to my expertise in these areas.

I would love the opportunity to get to know your global travel ideals and work with you to experience them all.

Favorite Travel Experiences

My friends and I were traveling through Scandinavia in 2016.  We were walking through the old town of Stockholm when we noticed a lot of local families with young kids, all with a cell phone in their hand.  Suddenly, a few of them yelled something, and everyone started running in the same direction.  We followed the crowd to a scenic spot by the water where everyone had gathered and we found out they had found a rare Pokémon in the Pokémon Go game.  My friend and I joined the local families in catching it! No need to understand the local language, we all knew the game.

Most Unusual or Intriguing Request I've Fulfilled for a Customer

I once received a request from a long time client who was trying to reach a certain elite level with his airline mileage status.  He was short about 20,000 miles and asked me if I had any great ideas.  I arranged for him to travel to China, Korea, and Japan from Charlotte, NC by going through Frankfurt, Germany and Singapore.  At the end of the trip, he told me he was exhausted, but thanked me that he was able to reach the top status.

Client Testimonials

We had a great time! The highlights were the Tokyo Sky Tree (amazing views and structure), the DisneySea park (one of the most beautiful theme parks we have seen) and the Edo-Tokyo Museum (very impressive, intricate models of ancient city scenes). We also saw the Asukusa temples (I was surprised how close the modern buildings were to the ancient ones) and we saw the Emperor on Jan 2 (exciting – crowd control was handled very well), and visited the school that our son Jesse attended one summer session, and met his host family. The Sunshine City Prince Hotel suited us very well. We ate many meals in the adjacent shopping area, got food from the Family Mart in the hotel and it was convenient to transportation. Based on the fire escape plan on the door the rooms we had were the largest on the floor and were very spacious. Transportation was pretty easy on the JR trains and Metro, but only because Jesse reads Japanese so well. The route map, which was necessary to determine the fare cost, was usually only in Japanese. Other than that, enough was printed or announced in English so we could understand it. The Travel Bound shuttle bus from Narita to our hotel on the evening of Dec 31 was great. On the way back we bought bus tickets at the hotel, which was less expensive. Thanks again for your help!
