Vacation Travel Advisor - NASHVILLE METRO AREA

Job Description

Travelink is seeking a skilled Leisure Travel Advisor with experience in domestic and international travel to serve as an agent in one of our 4 locations: Headquarters - Nashville, TN. Multi-State Payroll / HR Manager

Position Overview

The Multi-State Payroll / HR Manager position entails providing support for wide variety of payroll and human resources activities including, but not limited to: working with our outside agency partner on payroll processing for employees located in states across the country, employee benefits administration, employee relations, and recruiting.

This position will be located within our Nashville, Tennessee headquarters reporting to the Vice President, Finance. No relocation assistance is available for this position.

Required Experience & Skills

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • BA in Accounting or Finance with strong accounting, technical, and analytical skills
  • Minimum 5 years’ accounting experience, preferably including multi-state payroll processing experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly excel and powerpoint
  • Working knowledge of state and federal HR laws
  • Excellent presentation, communication (written & oral) and interpersonal skills
  • Available for flexible work schedule as needed

Specific responsibilities

PAYROLL

  • Oversee and execute all payroll related functions and activities for employees and travel advisors residing in multiple states. Responsible for overall accuracy and timely completion of payroll records
  • Prepare payroll reports, to include ad hoc reporting needs. Create and run audit reports to verify the accuracy of the payroll run
  • Responsible for knowledge and adherence with payroll related state and federal tax regulations
  • Compensation projections for annual budget
  • Work with ownership on annual compensation increases and bonus allocations
  • Processes expense reports
  • Calculates, processes, and communicates travel agent error, commissions, bonuses, and any adjustments required
  • Other accounting duties as assigned

HUMAN RESOURCES

  • Administers various human resources plans and procedures for company employees; assists in the development and implementation of employee policies and procedures
  • Ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance with legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources
  • Investigates employee relations issues, complaints, and conflicts in the workplace including appropriate documentation and follow-up
  • Makes recommendations for resolution to supervisors and individuals
  • Participates in the investigation and guidance for disciplinary actions
  • Counsel and support Managers on performance issues and recommend strategies for employee development
  • Participates in the on-boarding of new employees by conducting New Employee Orientation
  • Responds to employee inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs
  • Process employee separation documentation and conducts exit interviews
  • Respond to unemployment claims
  • Other duties as assigned
